Breast surgery – Correction of inverted nipple
So-called inverted nipples have sometimes a congenital basis but often they might form even during life due to some infection, wound by surgeries or other serious disease. Inverted nipples can represent an obstacle during breast feeding and personal hygiene, when there might appear infectious complications. The surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia. The patient should always undergo a mammography examination before the treatment to avoid serious disease. She must also be acquainted with the risk of not being able to breast feed in the future.
